With the profound transformation of the global energy landscape and the accelerating pace of energy transition, natural gas—as a clean, low-carbon, and high-quality energy source—is playing an increasingly vital role in ensuring energy security and promoting sustainable economic and social development across the world. In order to thoroughly implement China’s new energy security strategy of "Four Reforms and One Cooperation", actively respond to the country’s latest requirements for enhancing natural gas storage capacity, improve the natural gas reserve system and peak-shaving capability, strengthen the domestic gas storage system and operational mechanism, and enhance the resilience of the natural gas industry supply chain, the China International UGS Academic Conference & the First International Symposium on Comprehensive Utilization of Underground Space will be held in Shenzhen from November 5 to 7, 2025.
This forum aims to bring together academicians, government officials, experts, scholars, and industry representatives from China and abroad in the field of underground gas storage (UGS) . It will comprehensively summarize the latest technical progress and achievements in the industry since the last conference. Participants will jointly explore cutting-edge technologies, innovative models, and development trends in gas reserve and peak-shaving operations, and discuss the role and impact of underground space utilization in the context of green energy transformation. The forum also seeks to strengthen international technical exchange and cooperation, share successful experiences and practical cases, and explore new technologies, models, methods, and approaches for the high-quality development of UGS.
